Cell of SMKFIT

Officially launched
in the month of August 2008, the Entrepreneur
cell has members from diversified domains.
The Outlook of the Cell is to dig one’s
leadership qualities so that it inculcates
a managerial environment in the professional
career of the members. Currently there are
very aspiring members from all levels of
undergraduate studies. By a competitive
edge, the logo was designed. Our ECell is
open for all information, suggestions, critics
and accolades from all directions. We collect
Rs.100 per month from the members to carry
out the activities. The board members of
the Cell are given designations as in the
corporate structure, like CEO, CFO, Spokesperson,etc. |

We started our activities
by inviting in July 2008, with Ms. Vishnu
Priya NEN consultant for Chennai Region
in the Chair, She addressed a huge gathering
of nearly 200 undergraduates and postgraduates
to disseminate the knowledge of leadership
qualities and the benefits of being a member
of the ECell. |

Our ECell was officially
inaugurated only in August 2008. This was
after gaining confidence in ourselves by
conducting the above-mentioned mentorship
program. It was officially launched in the
august presence of very successful entrepreneurs.
The Guest of Honor for the event was the
CEO of Mind Minobola, Chennai. Our placement
officer has played a very critical role
in the launch and structuring of the ECell
in the Corporate environment. |

Based on the outcome
of our mentor’s, Balu Ranganathan
Ph.D. Entrepreneurship Educators Course
(EEC) we decided to have a co-activity with
a non-technical ECell to have a diversified
mode of operation. We participated in Ethiraj-SMK
Fit managerial SKiii program hosted by The
ECell of Ethiraj College in September 2008.
It gave us a great experience on man management.
Different activities to name a few, trading
with JigSaw Puzzle pieces, Group Discussion
on Go Green for value addition of recycled
products were conducted. |

In September 2008,
we attended the TATA HOT START-Ups Gathering
in The Loyola College. Chennai based start-up
companies participated and addressed the
gathering. |

In November 2008, as
a return event we hosted ECell of Ethiraj
College to our campus for a day's event.
The Guest of Honor for the event was the
founder of Earnkarma. A general debate on
Technology-Commerce interaction was conducted. |

| Our Mentor Balu Ranganathan Ph.D. is attending
the Entrepreneurship Educators Course (EEC)
in Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore.
He has very successfully completed Four Modules
upon five of the above-mentioned course. It
is organized by National Entrepreneurship
Network (NEN), IIM-Bangalore and Stanford
Ventures Program, Stanford University. It
is sponsored by Wadwani Foundation, California.
Our mentor received 50% Travel assistantship
from SMKFIT. |

| To top it all, ECell was started with Zero
Rs seed funding. This really proves our mettle
and skills to become leaders. |
