Electronics and Communication Engineering

Curriculum

Electrical & Electronics Engineering is one of the core branches of engineering. Studying Electrical engineering acts as a base for understanding the essence behind production, utilization & distribution of electrical energy. The course also elaborates on the important aspects of Electronics and its application into the field of Electrical science. During first year of engineering, Electrical engineering students learn about Common engineering courses like Engineering mathematics, Physics, Engineering Drawing and fundamentals of computing. From second years, students gain knowledge on Electromagnetic Theory, Electronic Devices and Circuits, Electrical Machines, Transmission and Distribution, Discrete Time Systems and Signal Processing, Measurements and Instrumentation, Power System Analysis, Microprocessors and Microcontrollers, Power Plant Engineering, Power Electronics, Control Systems, Solid State Drives, Design of Electrical Machines, Power System Operation and Control, Embedded Systems, High Voltage Engineering, Protection and Switchgear, Special Electrical Machines, Electric Energy Generation, Utilization and Conservation and other relevant core subjects. By the end of final year, students are well equipped with the profound knowledge regarding the working and application of electrical systems and engineering.

The subjects offered under electives are Electric Energy Generation, Fibre Optics and Laser Instruments, Visual Languages and Applications, Advanced Control Systems, Telecommunications Switching and Networks, Special Electrical Machines, Artificial Intelligence and Expert Systems, Data Communication and Networks, Power System Dynamics, Operating System, Power System Transients, Internetworking Technology, Embedded System Design, Mobile Communication, Power Quality, Adaptive Control, VLSI Design, Neural Network and Fuzzy Logic Control etc.
