The mechanical engineering department was started in the year 2009, offering both undergraduate (B.E.) and postgraduate (M.E.) programmes. The annual intake of the B.E. programme is 60 students and that of the M.E. is 18. The department provides the students with an environment that stimulates their intellectual growth and personality development. Infrastructure facilities are excellent with well-equipped labs, classrooms and libraries. Our teaching aspects are focused on result oriented and job oriented training and we ensure that these criteria’s are fulfilled by high end mentoring techniques such as Analogy based teaching & learning. During the course duration various events like Symposium, Workshops, Seminars, Conferences and Industrial visits will be conducted to enrich the knowledge of students. Also in order to ensure 100% placement in best industries with good packages we train students by providing Placement training, internship programs, value added courses and foreign language training. We also have foreign university collaboration, MoU with leading industries and Alumni support for better monitoring of students towards job oriented skill erudition.On completion of the degree, our students are prepared to take up entry-level Mechanical Engineering positions in Industry as well as for higher education where a fundamental Engineering background constitutes a desirable foundation. Academic course work and project works offered at the end of the course are designed to endow students with the ability to apply knowledge of Science, Mathematics, and Engineering, and the capability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams, and to utilize technical expertise. With a solid fundamental in the principles and practice of Mechanical Engineering, our students are also trained in ethical approaches towards Engineering, with a concern for society and the environment. Department aptly makes use of the technical facility of the workshop in teaching and in setting up of in-house experimental set-ups. Workshops and conferences cater to the needs of intra and inter departments activities of the College in terms of enhancing the career. Our students are well placed in leading industries as well as in the higher research level institutions of international recognition.

Mechanical engineering is one of the largest, broadest, oldest and best department in engineering disciplines. It’s also one of the Top ten departments desired by students. Mechanical engineers use the principles of energy, materials, and mechanics to design and manufacture machines and devices of all types. They create the processes and systems that drive technology and Industry. They work on power-producing machines such as generators, engines, turbines etc. They also work on power-using machines such as refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment, machine tools, material-handling systems, elevators and escalators, computer aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM), robotics etc.
